Not “Salento in Bus” 2020 only
This year public transport to and from the coasts of Salento is enriched with a new bus service: the Salento Link. So let’s briefly review all the ways to get around at low cost, and what’s new.
Salento Link
The news of this year comes from a partnership of Trenitalia with Ferrovie del Sud Est. The new service is called “Salento Link” and consists of the integration of the train / bus to reach the main locations both on the Ionian and Adriatic coasts. We started from Lecce and arrived in Torre Dell’Orso with only € 2.20. It works!
Ferrovie del Sud Est
If you are a train lover, you love the slow landscape that flows from the window, and you want to explore the Salento contryside then you must try a trip by train. The Salento railway network is very extensive and full of stations and we have highlited it on our map. Now you know that from Maglie you can reach Poggiardo by train.

Mare in Bus
The part of coast that includes the seaside of Torre dell’Orso, Roca, La Grotta della Poesia, San Foca, Sant’Andrea, also this year has been served by a mini-bus made available by the Municipality of Melendugno. It costs only € 1.00 and allows you to visit multiple beaches on the same day. This shuttle is eco also, we like it!
Lecce seaside
The Municipality of Lecce also offers a lines service provided by SGM to take you directly to Torre Rinalda, Torre Chianca, Frigole and San Cataldo. It costs only € 1.50 per way and we guarantee that you will find an authentic and unspoiled sea.
Salento in Bus
Those traveling low cost will have tried the legendary “Salento by Bus” once in a lifetime. It is an economic transport service that with less than 8 € (round trip) takes you to Otranto, Gallipoli, Santa Maria di Leuca, and many other places. A must.
Airport bus
In our map you will also find the line that connects Lecce to Brindisi Airport. This is the cheapest solution available to reach the airport and costs only € 6.50. Now everything is on the map.
